THE CULT.
With The Cult, we intend to portray the message that we as individuals come together collectively and project the notion that we do not need the acceptance of the apparent group of people called, society.
We come together as individuals to celebrate our individuality.
The common bond that binds us would be the disregard to the social norm of complying to the social norms.
Story on the Canvas.
Our art work can be seen as Medusa recruiting the renegades of society into this pre-existing Cult.
Her campaign is to let teenagers know that we exist and that you are not alone, we no need the acceptance of others. we have our Cult to reside in.
Aspects.
1. Medusa (the mascot of this campaign)
2. Sihiloute of a line of people (those already in the cult)
3. Poster orientated lay-out (recruiting notion)
4. Elements of youth (display the identity of this cult)
Side Note.
Why Medusa? We chose her because we felt that her actions seem absolutely inhumane to outsider,
but from her point of view, she is just a lonely woman who just wants company.
Story Behind the canvas.
Nowadays in the subconscious minds of people in everyday life, it is full of compromise.
Compromises like,
“I should play classical music when I have guest, hardcore music would portray me as a violent and immature individual and i don’t want that.”
“I should dress in a black and white suit cos that is accepted as smart and formal, I don’t want to stand out, I want to hide in the crowd.”
We are here to say, “NO! We don’t need your acceptance, nor will we comply to society’s standard of what’s apparently right.”
